The Bukit Juru (Juru Hill) forest reserve (Coordinates: 5.328525, 100.408674) has been refreshed with the addition of hand railings, tree tagging, signboards and concrete benches, among others. There are 646 stairways till the hill top. There are few spots have the breathtaking attractions. Bukit Juru is also a place of transition for various types of bird species. Among the species found here are Japanese sparrow hawk, plaintive cuckoo, collared kingfisher, changeable hawk-eagle and chestnut-headed bee-eater and etcetera.

The Air Hitam Dalam Recreation Forest  (Coordinate: 5.452838, 100.452054). A freshwater swamp and reserved forest spanning over approximately 10ha, It is located to the north of Province Wellesley (Seberang Perai Utara). Its name ‘Air Hitam Dalam’ refers to a river nearby that is deep and dark. Housing an ecosystem that has many plants and animals, especially birds, there are two observation towers here that are linked by a 210m suspension bridge. Birding is possible here, where the sites for birding are canopied and connected by a 1,163m boardwalk.

The trail From Youth Park to Station No.3 is nice and have Tanjong Tokong and Pulau Tikus area views. You can hear birds whispering, bugs buzzing and cricket chirping etc. From Station No.3 to Station No.5 is a bit exhausted. This portion mostly stairs way and it had about 600+ stairs. Berapit Hill Bukit Mertajam, Butterworth, Penang. There is a cafe called Berapit Hilltop Teahouse (天苑茶坊) only served vegetarian foods and dim sam. The curry noodles and dim sam are very tasty. Only open on Saturday & Sunday, 8am-6pm. The Wat Pra Kai Chai is located above the cafe and the scenery view is very nice.

Hike from Water Fall Trail to BIG TREE, the tree is really huge and its base have over 2 meter height. Just follow the “blue maker” and you will lead to the tree. Continue the trail and you will reach rest area -Station 2, and then arrive at Pondok Rekreasi. Ascend by using Tar Road to the Top of the hill where there are communication towers. Along the way, there is a scenery platform over see the Mengkuang Dam. This trail is quite fun and exhausted.

Hike from Hye Keat, entrance from road next to Volunteers Fire Brigade and Desa Bendera Apartment and after the river, right turn into the tar road and walking straight up. This path will pass by housing and durian farm. First rest station is located at durian farm and second is the temple rest station and has very nice city view. The middle station is just after this temple and for those wish to call it off at this point can take the train at the middle station to go down. On the way up, you will pass by cable train track and you have an opportunity to take a nice cable train photo. There is few more resting station for you to rest. This trail consider longer if compare with others. It is very nice and has breathtaking view to enjoy.

Hike from Penhill Perdana Condominium to the hill top. Basically, this is motorcyclist (for farmer) and for cyclist enthusiasts path. This path will pass through vegetable farms. There is a Chinese temple located at quarter hill and having an astonish view to Ayer Itam city view. First rest station is located at meddle of the hill and the view to the city view is breath-taking. Along the path, there are farms of vegetable such Okra, Chili, Roselle, Ambarella fruit, Passion fruits, Dahlia flower, Green beans and etc. The type of vegetables planting varies from time to time. The views from the hill are breath-taking and gorgeous to enjoy. This is a longer path to reach hill top and need more energy because it is very sloppy along the way.
