Hiking to station 21 via Rifle Range 39 trail (Padang Tembak Flat), (Coordinates: 5°24'43.1"N 100°17'15.5"E). This is a short path to station 21, you can have good rest and enjoy the view of Air Itam and Farlim town. The Penang Bridge is visibly clearly. You can proceed to no. 39 follow the arrow direction just behind it. If you go straight further is the trail connecting to Hye Keat trail which is leading to Penang Hill.

Hiking from Kampung Pulau Betong  (Coordinates: 5°18'11.6"N 100°11'41.1"E )to ¾ Gertak Sanggul trail takes 3+ hours round trip depend on your stamina and speed. Basically this is motorcycle and bicycle trail. You can enjoy some nice scenery view along the trail. The end of this trail is Kampung Gertak Sunggul.  If you plan to finish from one point to the other point, a good planning must be carry out otherwise you may end up calling Grab J.

Bukit Batu Kawan  (Coordinates: 5.266443, 100.418585) is another hiking spot in Butterworth. The entrance is beside Arulmigu  Balathandayuthapani  Devasthanam temple. Hike the tar road till the top and descend by the trail until reaching the seaside. The seaside needs to be taking care and It is very dirty and the rubbish everywhere.  It is a good hike and the reward is the fantastic sea breeze. The Pulau Aman and Pulau Gedung is just at sight. From the starting point to the hill top and then to the seaside, then after walk back to the starting point from Jetty (to Pulau Aman) takes about 2 hours.

Hiking Eagle Hill summit via Cangkat Sungai Ara 19, walk up the tar road till the bungalow on the right. The Eagle Hill summit is behind it and just hike up along the trail. The path has many obstacles such as chained gate, bushy path and barbed wire. This path not recommended.  It is recommended to look for alternate path to hike. The view at the Eagle Hill summit is very rewarding. The 1^st and 2^nd bridge can be seen clearly. It is the best view thus far.

Hiking Batu Ferringhi Waterfall (or Chin Farm Waterfall) coordinates: (5.46016, 100.242) is a lovely waterfall in Penang. The waterfall cascades down the rocks into a stream. The entrance path leading to the waterfall is located right across the road from Bayview Beach Resort. You can park your vehicle at the space beside the main road, and takes an easy walk cum little hike to the waterfall further upstream. It is cool and clear spring water. You can dip in your leg to enjoy the coolness. Further hike up is rocks landscape. Hiking Teruna Dara Waterfall Balik Pulau Penang. The entrance is behind Sekolah Menengah Sungai Rusa (Coordinates:  5.384043, 100.214708). Just look for the school on  your right along Jalan Sungai Rusa, turn in the road beside the school and look for a small sign on a tree and go further deep in until you see the starting point (please refer to video). The hike takes about 20mins to reach at waterfall.  Actually, the waterfall is on a privately owned orchard and the owner is maintained it very well. The waterfall is small with a little pool for a cooling dip in at the base. The water is cool, clean and fresh from the mountain and it flow generously.

Hiking Tokun Hill (Bukit Tokun Bukit Mretajam大山脚卓坤山) by using {trek 800}. This path is very challenging and exhausted. It takes 1.15-1.30hours to reach the mengkuang dam view.  Just follow the (E sign marking-orange color) & (J sign marking-black color) to lead you to the dam view. The site to view this scenic spot has been blocked by branches and sealed by plastic strip by the orchard owner. {Overall it is an adventurous trail}.

NOTE:  If you haven't climbed this path yet, then your Tokun hill hiking record is not perfect. Tokun hill has many paths, I have been hiking Tokun Hill many times and this is the first time I hike this path, the scenery for most of the paths such as communication towers, three giant stones, big fallen tree, Big tree, dam viewing platform (not panorama view) etc. are not as attractive as this path, it has a full view of Mengkuang Dam and astonish scenic sight.

Hiking Bukit Kampung Binjai in Bayan Lepas, Penang (Coordinates:  5.282535, 100.257275). The entrance is located behind the Caltex petrol kiosk. It is a nice, quiet and enjoyable trail. It takes about 25mins or less to reach the seaside and the sea breeze and the view is rewarding. It is recommended to go during low tide, this time you can walk along the beach.

This alternative trail of Juru Hill (Coordinates: 5.328525, 100.408674) consist of 1500 steps to the hill top. The trail is very well managed and maintained by a group of local keepers. It is easy and better trail to hike if compare with the other trail. But, it is tiring and exhausting. Make sure you are not empty stomach before start to hike.
